Tps is the tiny photo sensor, an inexpensive device to measure monochromatic light in the range of 0.1–100 W/cm2.

It is tiny, because it requires only a few very small parts:

Jumper the USB interface for 5V and power the sensor and the capacitor from VCC. The sensor data pin is connected to CTS. Configure the FTDI interface as described in README and the hardware is finished.

The tps software performs frequency measurement by sampling the CTS pin at a suitable bitrate and converts the frequency delivered by the sensor to light density.

Tps works on Linux and Cygwin. The source is available as a >GNU zipped tape archive.
