Summary

I am a skilled engineer with excellent analytical abilities, originally in system software/architecture and over time enriched by data analysis, optical, electrical and mechanical engineering, quality management and communication/learning theory. I often work interdisciplinary and have many years of experience based on a solid education background. I am strongly dedicated to reach my aims by working hard and creatively and succeed by being able to stay focused on demanding topics over extended periods of time.

Being active in software development on various systems since the eighties, since 1990 I focus on UNIX/Linux and embedded systems with extensive experience as both systems programmer, user and administrator, including many classic internet services. I like working on design and architecture, and always keep operability in mind. My personal interests in amateur astronomy and scientific imaging caused a professional shift towards interdisciplinary work in many fields. Beside technical tools, I use communication theory to master psychological obstacles in a technical environment; encourage by visions and gain authority by competence.

I work well by myself and with small teams. I lead efficient meetings, but prefer the structured and efficient ways of communication employed by many free software projects on the web. I dislike traveling and prefer video conferences instead.

I can successfully manage a team, but I really do enjoy working in an expert level position on a project scope that includes software, supporting multiple teams on demand.

I am looking for a consulting engineer position in R&D with possibility of professional growth and most important: Moving technological frontiers.
